1. Take in a classic Chicago holiday show

Okay, maybe you’re not a “ballet person,” but we promise you’ll like this one. Come on, it’s The Nutcracker! At the very least, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how many of the songs you know. (Auditorium Theatre, 50 E Congress Pkwy, 7pm. $35-$170)

2. Get out of Boystown for the night

Sick of the scene at Halsted and Roscoe? Head over to Bucktown for Off-Chances, a West Side favorite. Don’t forget your flannel. (Danny’s Tavern, 1951 W Dickens Ave, 10pm. Free)

3. Watch Love, Actually get totally ripped apart

The reading series [REDACTED] takes beloved films and turns them on their head to hilarious ends. Tonight on the chopping block is British holiday rom-com Love Actually. (Music Box Theatre, 3733 N Southport Ave, 8pm. $10)
