1. Christmas shopping...with drinks!

Find tons of wares from local vendors, crafters and makers at Sauced Night Market, held at Emporium Arcade Bar's Logan Square location. As always, admission is free. Food vendors include the likes of DönerMen, Bang Bang Pie Shop and Yusho, and there will be tons of cocktail and beer options as well. (Emporium Arcade Bar Logan Square, 2363 N Milwaukee Ave, 6pm. Free)

2. Heavy metal, dude

Though this band has stopped touring extensively, Pelican remains one of the loudest popular bands in Chicago. Catch them onstage tonight in Ukrainian Village with touring acts Goatsnake and Cloakroom as well as local hardcore punk act Canadian Rifle. Bring your earplugs, this is going to be one heavy show. Also, check out our interview with Trevor de Brauw of Pelican(Empty Bottle, 1035 N Western Ave, 9pm. $20)

3. Nod to the beat

On the other end of the spectrum for great concerts tonight is Vince Staples, a Long Beach rapper whose music is rooted in the traditions of '90s West Coast hip-hop. His raw, confessional lyrical approach has even landed the young artist on the long list for an Academy Award next year. (Bottom Lounge, 1375 W Lake St, 8pm. $20)
