The three best things to do today in Chicago

1. Catch your favorite—or most loathed?—Christmas rom-com

Whether you love it or you love to hate it, Love Actually is always worth a watch around this time of year. If nothing else, you’ll leave the show compulsively whining, “I hate Uncle Jamie!” in the best British accent you’ve got. (Music Box Theatre, 3733 N Southport, 4:45pm and 9:30pm. $11 regular, $9 senior)

2. See the rebel girls of the art world

The Museum of Contemporary Art’s latest exhibition, "MCA DNA: Riot Grrrls", highlights the museum’s collection of feminist work. See just how punk rock abstract art can get. (Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E Chicago Ave, 10am 8pm. $12 suggested admission)

3. Belt out a Hellelujah!

Why go see the pros perform The Messiah when you can just do it yourself? Join the Do-It-Yourself Messiah in singing Handel’s famous mass, a Christmas mainstay. (Harris Theatre, 205 E Randolph St, 7pm. $15)
