1.Spend a night with Jeff

Bring your dibs chair, bongos and appetite to Jefferson Park tonight for one of Chicago’s most beloved and eccentric festivals. Jeff Fest kicks off its weekend run featuring food trucks, beer, a Metallica cover band and a drum circle anyone can join. If you’re name is Jeff, don’t forget to show your ID for free entry. Other highlights include the Kids Zone Summer Stage and juried art show. (Jefferson Memorial Park, 4822 N Long Ave, 6pm-11pm, $5 entry)

2.Find out if bigger is better

Expand your art intake at the Museum of Contemporary Art ‘s “S,M,L,XL” this afternoon. Presenting sculptural works of increasing size and ambition, this selection explores artwork that becomes a part of the gallery rather than a pedestalled focal point. Squeeze into a narrowing hallway or stretch out within the massive interior of a decommissioned hot air balloon in this immersive exhibit. (Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E Chicago Ave,10am-5pm, $12 suggested admission, $7 students and seniors)

3. Dance till the cows come home

German electroaccoustic dance pop duo Milky Chance returns for a third show this year. If you missed their previous shows or just didn’t get your fill of melancholy dance music then get to Aragon and milk your Friday night for all its worth. (Aragon, 1106 W Lawrence Ave, 7:30pm, $33)
