1. Japanese artist Takashi Murakami’s exhibit “The Octopus Eats Its Own Leg” opens at the Museum of Contemporary Art today. The museum is free for Illinois residents on Tuesdays.

2. See a great lineup of local stand-up comedians at Chicago Underground Comedy at the Beat Kitchen tonight at 9:30pm. Tickets are just $5.

3. Electro-pop band Future Islands performs at the Riviera Theatre in Uptown tonight at 8pm. Tickets still are available starting at $57.
