The Art Institute of Chicago is nearly impossible to tackle in a single visit. With more than 300,000 artworks and artifacts from around the world, the museum can appear rather overwhelming.

Now, thanks to Google's recently launched Art Project, aficionados can tour the Art Institute from the comfort of their homes via Google Street View. Granted, you cannot see the detail in Seurat's "A Sunday on La Grande Jatte" or make out the extent of the grief on van Gogh's face in his "Self-Portrait," but you can get an general view of the museum's collection without stepping out into the frigid weather or putting on pants.
