Richard Branson's first hotel is now open in Chicago, and it's promising to be just as cool as the mogul's other endeavors.

Virgin Hotel, located at 203 North Wabash Avenue in the Old Dearborn Bank Building, opened its doors to the public today. The 250-room hotel boasts an underground spa, a rooftop bar and a new restaurant called the Commons Club.

The hotel is offering free wi-fi, minibars "stocked at street prices" and an app that allows guests to control the room's thermostat and TV, as well as chat with the concierge and other guests. Dog-friendly rooms are also available.

All those perks do not come cheap. The starting rate for a room is upwards of $200 per night, with suites exceeding $485 per night.

Branson and company have plans to open a second hotel in Nashville in 2016, and a third location in New York City in 2017.
