Dang, we’ve been giving away a lot of tickets lately. Lucky you! With the holidays coming up (they’re closer than you may think!) we want to help you save some pennies without missing out on all the awesome talks and lectures going on in Chicago this week. But no, we don’t have any Cubs tickets to give away.

This time, we want to send you and a guest to these two Chicago Humanities Festival events at the end of the month:

Writer and queer activist Dan Savage is perhaps known best for founding the “It Gets Better” Project. (Though he also coined a rather unseemly definition of the word “Santorum.” You can Google that yourself.) Savage will appear in conversation with Humanities Festival Associate Artistic Director Alison Cuddy on October 31 at 8pm.

Chicago’s best actors and musicians pay tribute to Prince and David Bowie, two visionary artists we lost this year. Bowie and Prince blurred lines of gender and genre; “Prince/Bowie: We Can Be Heroes” seeks to celebrate their artistic courage.
