Tickets to the Grateful Dead's 50th anniversary "Fare Thee Well" shows at Soldier Field on Fourth of July weekend are like diamonds in the Dead Head community. After thousands of fans failed to obtain tickets via mail-in request and Ticketmaster, there seemed to be little hope for the band's dreadlocked faithful.
Luckily, WXRT has announced a ticket giveaway that will run every week from April 20 through the week prior to the concerts. The catch: You have to spend your morning listening to Lin Brehmer speak. "Dead Giveaway" hours will be announced during his XRT Morning Show, and the 931st entrant each week will score general admission tickets to watch a bunch of senior citizens jam out.
