German composer Richard Wagner based his final opera on a medieval poem, incorporating sacred relics like the Holy Grail into a three-act epic that stretches on for nearly five hours. The Lyric Opera production is directed by John Caird, who co-directed the original productions of Les Mis�rables and Nicholas Nickleby.
