Second City NBCUniversal Break Out Comedy Festival

Second City hosts this lineup of up-and-coming stand-up comics each year, primarily showcasing funny women, queer folks and people of color. Chicago-bred comic and actor Godfrey hosts the festival’s fourth edition. On June 6, the eve of Break Out, you can catch a showcase performance by members of this year’s cohort of the Bob Curry Fellowship, Second City’s five-year-old development program for LGBTQ and nonwhite writer-performers. On June 9 from noon to 2pm, there’s a free panel and networking event for aspiring comics.
