Hubbard Street Dance company member Rena Butler kicks off the virtual season with the streaming premiere of "A Tale of Two," which was created, filmed and scored in Chicago this summer. The 25-minute work reflects on Butler's experience growing up in the city and the way that summertime felt markedly different in neighborhoods where gunshots were common and in the Loop. With the help of Hubbard Street dancers, Butler's choreography is set against various parts of Chicago, exploring why it's a place that so often feels like two cities in one.
