Women-led teams from the Joffrey Ballet and Miami City Ballet joined forces to create this kid-friendly production, which centers on a young artist whose world is shaken up after she and her mother must leave their tropical island home following a hurricane. Settling in a strange new city, Rita embarks upon a journey to embrace her new home with family, new friends and a colorful array of watercolor set design. The free production premieres at Navy Pier before touring public spaces across Chicagoland—you can see a full list of performances below.
