New Belgium Brewery brings its signature celebration of bikes and beer to Palmer Square for another year of freaky fun. The day begins with a bike parade through Humboldt Park and Logan Square and continues with circus performers and live music in Palmer Square Park—this year, Dr. Dog and Mucca Pazza headline. The environmentally conscious festival benefits West Town Bikes and culminates with one lucky attendee trading his or her car in for a brand new bicycle.

This is the quirkiest beer festival, but such a totally fun way to spend an afternoon. With a weird bike pit and interesting beers going on tap all day—just find a food truck to fit your fancy and wander around to see the sights. You won't be sorry.
Tour de Fat is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. It's in one of my favorite parks in the city—Palmer Square—and has lots and lots of awesome, quirky things to do and test rides for bike nerds like me.
This festival is so, so, so much fun. You can get great beers, watch some quirky musical acts, and take in a bit of funhouse flair. There's a really neat "bike pit" too, where anyone can try out bikes of all sizes, and really, even all shapes. It's a sight to see for sure.
