Michigan Avenue 1962, a still from the STRESS/DE-STRESS program

This tongue-in-cheek "guided meditation" was first held at Nightingale Cinema in 2012. The Nightingale's Christy LeMaster dug through the Chicago Film Archives trove of amateur and industrial films in search of relaxing clips, which are shown simultaneously by three projectors. Layered on top are the words of writers Mairead Case and Ed Crouse and the sounds of Joshua Dumas. The intention is to create an almost hypnotic space where you can zone out, look inward or merely kick back and take it easy.
