If the prospect of 100 beers from nearly 30 breweries doesn't get you excited, how about some Lucha Libre wrestling? Attendees will be able to get their fill of both at the Beer Fest Beatdown, which also features a beer fountain (the kind you throw pennies into) and beer-themed holiday card workshop. Tis the season to drink holiday beer.

We attended the Ball Park Brew Fest held at Schaumburg Flyers stadium in the Spring and it was great.  We purchased VIP tickets for this event which were almost double the regular cost ($60 vs $35).  Upon our arrival we were given small plastic cups along with a $12 food voucher.  The majority of the beer vendors were still setting up and were not pouring - they were still tapping their kegs.  There were a few vendors trying but pouring only foam.  No vendors upstairs had any of their information displayed so you couldn't tell who they were representing or what they were pouring.  I only saw one vendor 'tent' actually working and had a huge line by it.  There were no food trucks present - only the snack bar was open.  Vendors on the main floor were also still setting up and not ready to pour.  After voicing my concerns the people running the event basically shrugged and said, "sorry, they should be ready."  I asked for my money back and received a refund and left.  Worst. Beer. Fest. Ever.  Who sells VIP tickets at almost double the cost and has those 'VIPs' walk in to no vendors ready to serve?  Terrible experience, poorly executed and the description of VIP experience was a sham.
