Blue Frog 22

Advertising

“It looks like a toy chest exploded over the walls and ceiling,” explains John Reed of Blue Frog 22, the bar he co-owns with his mom, Mimi Witschy. Why 22? Witschy has owned the original Blue Frog, located just a few blocks away, for 22 years, and the location of the new place is 22 East Hubbard. But aside from being three times the size of the original, the new Blue Frog replicates its older sibling. There’ll be karaoke, board games, the staple foods (burgers, Straight From Hell chili, ten varieties of wings), and colorful cocktails, such as the Island Swine, which is made with four kinds of rum. (Just imagine what the room looks like once you’ve downed a couple of those.) 22 E Hubbard St, 312-527-1200.
