  1. The Grill on the Alley

When The Grill on the Alley opened in 2000, they already knew all about old-time sophistication. From the white-jacketed waiters to the soundtrack of classic jazz, this is a place where steak and seafood are served as youd wish them always to be served. Slide along one of the leather banquettes, order your food-bagel and lox or corned beef hash for breakfast, lunch of jumbo lump crab cake followed by grilled cobb salad, or dinner of prime New York pepper steak with sauted zucchini, maybe a beer or cocktail on the side-and admire the art on the walls.

SPG members get a year-round 10% discount. Under the Triple Benefits promotion, there are two further perks: an additional 10% off your tab if you return to dine before October 31, 2013, and if you dine with three or more guests youll also receive a complimentary cheese platter.

  3. Wave

Under Executive Chef Gregory Elliott, Wave focuses on carefully sourced, seasonal ingredients, many coming from dedicated producers in the Midwest, in unusual combinations that show a clear affinity with both French and Italian cuisine. Its a casual but contemporary setting for twists on classic cocktails (how about a tamarind whiskey sour?), cut-above bar snacks (kobe beef sliders, house-made truffle chips) and knockout meals (prosciutto-wrapped scallops followed by walleye pike). The restaurant has a great location within W Chicago Lakeshore, with a terrace from which you can look out on Lake Michigan and the attractions of Navy Pier.
