Five not-scary 7am bars

Advertising
1

Rossi’s (412 N State St, 312-644-5775)
Like a secret chamber of debauchery, the red door to this State Street bar reveals no sign of what’s inside. Turns out it’s a dark cabinish space with a crowd of lewd yuppies and bitter locals. Mon–Fri 7am–2am; Sat 7am–3am, Sun 11am–2am.

2

G&L Fire Escape (2157 W Grace St, 773-472-1138)
Criticism of our country probably isn’t wise inside these firehouse-themed walls. With all the pro-America posters and flags, there’s more patriotism in here than in the White House. Mon–Fri 7am–2am; Sat 7am–3am; Sun 11am–2am.

3

Ola’s Liquor (947 N Damen Ave, 773-384-7250)
Catering to those who “work” odd hours, this tiny (and cheap) bar-cum–liquor store is the perfect final destination for a raucous night. Mon–Fri 7am–2am; Sat 7am–3am; Sun 11am–2am.

4

Memories (6325 N Clark St, 773-338-6835)
Stumble into this Edgewater dive most nights, and the drinkers bellied up to the bar look as if they’ve been sucking suds since the place opened at 7am. If simply chugging bores you, there’s a pool table, some TVs and a jukebox. Mon–Fri 7am–2am; Sat 7am–3am; Sun 11am–2am.

5

Old Timers (75 E Lake St, 312-332-3561)
If you must get your breakfast buzz, nuzzle up to the bosom of this well-worn bar/diner in the Loop. The grizzled waitresses have more than an ounce of attitude and won’t think twice about dropping a little more Hennessy in your coffee. Mon–Fri 6am–2am; Sat 7am–1am (closed Sun).
