As hardened Chicagoans, we’re used to taking what we can get in terms of farmers’ markets. In a parking lot? Fine. In a muddy field? No complaints. That’s why we were so delighted by the Wednesday-evening Wheeler Mansion Market, which combined our enjoyment of shopping for regionally grown produce (or, to be more precise, loading up on “local” chocolates and croissants) with the elegance and festiveness of a 19th-century garden party, set in the lush yard of the Prairie District’s Wheeler Mansion, built in 1870. 2020 S Calument Ave.
