Microcurrent Eye Lifting “Facial”
The eyes don’t lie. When you’re tired, they’re saggy, sport dark circles—basically they betray you. When you don’t have enough time for a luxurious nap (or a full night’s sleep) to recoup, pop into the Peninsula Spa for the next best thing. During this noninvasive treatment, an aesthetician gently prods the muscles around your eyes to give them a “workout,” strengthening and tightening them so they, in turn, look stronger and tighter once she’s finished. Cooling cucumber slices complete the quick-and effective process. $75, or $50 when added to another facial treatment. Peninsula Spa, 108 E Superior St (312-337-2888).—Judy Sutton Taylor

DermaFlash Plus Facial Treatment
The compliments I received about my skin on the days following this Gold Coast med spa’s signature treatment kept coming. “You barely look 30 years old,” one lovely friend said (I’m, ahem, just a tad older). My skin did look more toned and my fine lines were less visible thanks to a triple-exfoliation deep-cleansing treatment followed by a peel customized to my skin’s needs that—bonus!—also removed fine peach fuzz. The “plus” came in the form of hyaluronic acid serum that’s infused with hyperbaric oxygen. I have no idea what that is, but after I got slathered with it, I had a fab dewy glow that lasted for a few weeks. $200 at C.I. MedSpa (100 E Walton St, 312-255-1495). —JST

Customized Facial The Spa at Trump offers five facials to turn back the clock, but customizing lets you combine elements of each, plus some extra surprises. Mine starts with a soothing pressure-point massage and steaming hot towels to open my pores. After hydrating my skin with oxygen and an uber-plumping collagen mask and using LED lights to help reduce the effects of aging, my aesthetician pulls ice-cold “magic beauty globes” from the fridge to shock my pores closed and lock inside all of the youthful goodies she’s applied. It feels so amazing, I have to stop everything to look at what’s happening. I’m stunned to find my face looks years younger—like a face-lift, but way easier. $295 at The Spa at Trump (401 N Wabash Ave, 312-588-8020).
