All Families Matter: International Family Equality Day

Chicago Children's Museum kicks off its two-month-long All Families Matter programming by celebrating International Family Equality Day on May 3. LGBT-led families and families with gender non-conforming children are encouraged to participate in a variety of fun activities, not the least of which is transforming the CCM's famed staircase into a giant rainbow using colorful ribbons. (Other options: creating family flags and having your family portrait taken.) Since the event is part of the museum's "First Free Sunday" series, children 15 and under get in free.
