Time Out says

The History Museum teams up with the Chicago Japanese American Historical Society, the Japanese American Service Committee and the Chicago-Nisei Post #1183 of the American Legion to tell the stories of the Japanese Americans who served in World War II. While those soldiers fought (and died) after the attack on Pearl Harbor, the U.S. government's War Relocation Authority was carrying out its policy of internment camps. The U.S. acknowledged those soldiers' service, awarding them the Congressional Gold Medal in September 2011.
