Intuit is unique. It is perhaps the only museum in the U.S. dedicated to Outsider art. Outsider art is special. It is art that is expressed unfettered by formal training which, in my opinion, sets boundaries on what is acceptable and what is not. There is a freedom of expression in Outsider art that cannot be found elsewhere.
If you haven't discovered Intuit's Henry Darger Room yet, you are missing one of Chicago's truly unique arts destinations. Exhibitions are always on the edge. Not your typical visual arts venue.
They have endless numbers of events and exhibits, and they are always having classes where you and I can learn to do our own "outsider" art !!! Its low key hut very high vibe!! Neighborhood and City treasure!!!
amazing place! different, artsy, not your regular museum, high quality art curation. Incredible educational programming and workshops. A world leader in Outsider and Intuitive Art.
