Local punk-scene stalwart Brian Peterson, former booker of the Fireside Bowl and head honcho of mP Productions, began booking crusty rock here in early 2010. Peterson may try to make it sound all dank and cool by slapping the name "The Cave" on it, but this is first and foremost the Serbian Cultural and Arts Center. This is the place to keep up with the burgeoning cassette-tape scene and the fuzzy, scuzzy garage underground. It reminds us of the old days of seeing D.C. dudes in veterans halls. (Of course, Balkan folk acts pass through here, too.) But what's up with the lack of all-ages shows?
