Alkaline Trio

Though he's better known as the current frontman of Blink-182, Chicagoans will always know Matt Skiba as the voice of McHenry, Illinois outfit Alkaline Trio. Released earlier this year, the group's long-awaited ninth LP, Is This Thing Cursed?, is another servicable collection of pop-punk anthems that address everything from the canceled Fyre Festival (which Blink-182 was booked to headline), the 2016 election and Skiba's early career as a bicycle messenger in Chicago. Returning to Metro for four shows, Alkaline Trio is encouraging fans to bring canned goods to donate to the Lakeview Pantry and to show up early to catch opening acts Masked Intruder, Sincere Engineer, Sidekick Kato and Beach Bunny.
