The Chicago Symphony Orchestra turns 125 years old this year— that may sound old, but it's actually relatively young when compared to European contemporaries like the 567-year-old Royal Danish Orchestra. To celebrate the beginning of the season, the CSO will play a free concert at Pritzker Pavilion, featuring selections by Beethoven and Mahler.
