Music, Rap, hip-hop and R&B

Louisiana's Curren$y—who has traversed a strange career path that started at Master P's Cash Money label in 2003 and didn't result in a full-length until 2010's Pilot Talk—creates lush, stoned-out rap through a gangster mentality, perpetuating the cars and cash cliché while also boasting about his NBA Live prowess. Unusually prolific, he's playing behind his latest mixtape, The Drive In Theatre, and you'll likely hear from the forever forthcoming Pilot Talk III. Makes for a nice kickoff to Pitchfork weekend.
