Breakups have inspired some great music throughout the years, but it's rare for the two folks involved in a dissolved relationship to keep working together, creatively or otherwise. Emily Kempf and Jason Balla are among the exceptions to that rule, continuing to make jangling rock songs together as DEHD even after their romantic partnership ended. The resulting album, Flowers of Devotion, is one that deals with loss, grief and finding hope—all set to infectious pop melodies. Headlining Audiotree's Staged streaming concert series, DEHD will perform to an empty house at Lincoln Hall.
