Pools of brown rainwater separated the already sparse crowd gathered in front of the Google+ stage for Fences. Those who were there, however, were fully committed to the Tegan & Sara (okay, just Sara) protégé's downcast indie. "Any of you kids got our record?" asked frontman Christopher Mansfield with a faint hint of cynicism. (A few faithful fans replied with an enthusiastic "yeah" nonetheless.) The four-piece followed with "The Same Tattoos," offering melodic yet somber post-emo. "Hell, I even think we even have the same tattoos," Mansfield sang, a statement that undoubtedly rings true in this swarm of inked-up post-adolescents.
