Lupe Fiasco

Since his 2006 debut Food & Liquor, Chicago rapper Lupe Fiasco has always separated himself from many of his contemporaries, opting to write songs about social issues and spirituality, eschewing the played-out narratives of commercial hip-hop. On the heels of his final major label album, Tetsuo & Youth, Fiasco claimed that he's getting ready to quit rap game, promising a final trilogy of albums in 2016. None of those record have materialized yet, though Fiasco did drop an Egypt-themed mixtape, called Pharaoh Height. If you're lucky, you'll hear some of his latest tracks during this hometown show at the House of Blue.
