Time Out says

Awash in swirling synthesizers, far-out guitar riffs and ethereal vocals, the music of Ripley Johnson and Sanae Yamada uses psych rock tropes as a jumping-off point for even more heady sonic exploration. Moon Duo's latest album, Stars Are The Light, draws on disco, funk and dance music, weaving each genre's steady rhythms and hypontic melodies into percussive compositions that wouldn't sound out of place on a dance floor. The pair brings its visually-stunning new live show to Thalia Hall, performing inside a translucent box that serves as a canvas for all manner of trippy projections. Local synth wizard Jimmy Lacy opens the show, performing under the moniker Sip.
