Time Out says
Pay no attention to Oozing Wound's disgusting band name. The local trio's sludgy, rapid-fire riffs are the real attraction, and they sound better than ever on group's latest album, High Anxiety, which was recorded at Chicago's hallowed Electrial Audio studio. Seething with a cathartic sense cynicism, frontman Zack Weil snarls atop propulsive tracks with titles like "Surrounded By Fucking Idiots" (aimed squarely at the clientele of the Empty Bottle, where he works the door) and "Birth of a Flat Earther." Celebrating the album's release via local label Thrill Jockey, Oozing Wound headlines a stacked bill that includes Milwaukee power-pop act Platinum Boys, hard rock quartet Hitter and quasi-industrial outfit Dim.
