Time Out says

Anyone who drives on the Kennedy is familiar with the roof of the old Morton Salt building, which sports the iconic image of a girl holding an umbrella. While the building used to house piles of salt, the folks behind Thalia Hall, Empty Bottle and the Promontory have transformed it into an expansive entertaiment complex, with plenty of space for outdoor concerts. The indoor portion of the venue is set to open in 2023, with room for all kind of events and pop-ups, as well as retailers, local vendors, bars and more.

Warm Love Cool Dreams

Returning for its second year, The Salt Shed’s flagship music festival promises a weekend of left-of-center sounds and alternative icons. This year’s lineup features Aussie singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett, electronic luminary Toro y Moi, and noise-pop pioneers The Jesus and Mary Chain. Beyond the music, attendees can explore the quirky Oddball Market and a studio sale curated by the Chicago nonprofit Arts of Life.
