Time Out says

There are few bassists as nimble on the fretboard as Thundercat, a talent that has made him a frequent collaborator of producer Flying Lotus and rapper Kendrick Lamar. On his forthcoming record It Is What It Is, the the L.A. instrumentalist and vocalist turns in another collection of funky R&B tracks, collaborating with the likes of Steve Lacy, Childish Gambino, Kamasi Washington and BadBadNotGood. Bay Area Instagrammer-turned-rapper Guapdad 4000 (take one guess at what his username is) opens the show.
