1. The Chicago Musical Theatre Festival kicks off tonight at Greenhouse Theatre Center, with shows every night for 21 days. Festival passes are $120.

2. Admire Shanghainese artist Xu Longsen’s large-scale landscape paintings at his exhibit “Light of Heaven” at the Art Institute. The museum is open from 10:30am to 5pm, and admission is $14 for Chicago residents.

3. Check out the second to last Salonathon at Beauty Bar tonight. The fading variety show starts at 9pm and is free to attend.
