The three things you need to know today in Chicago: Tue, Mar 6

1. Head to Vertical Gallery to see Chicago painter LIE’s latest exhibition, “Bloom,” which mixes street art with watercolor and pencil drawings. The gallery is open from 11am to 6pm and admission is free.

2. Get a taste of spring at the Chicago Botanic Garden Orchid Show, with thousands of the ornate flora. It’s open from 10am to 4pm today, and entry is $8–$12.

3. Check out the One Earth Film Festival, which is screening environmentally and socially conscious documentaries citywide all week long. Find a screening near you on the fest’s website.
