1. The weekly Soup and Bread community event at the Hideout raises funds for local food pantries. Tonight’s meal is the next to last one of the season; it starts at 5:30pm and entry is pay-what-you-can.

2. There’s been renewed talk recently about whether video-game violence can lead to real-world manifestations. Get an artistic perspective at VGA Gallery’s free exhibition “Gun Ballet: the Aestheticization of Violence in Video Games,” open this evening from 5 to 8pm.

3. On Your Feet!, the infectious musical biography of Gloria Estefan and her producer husband, Emilio, returns to Chicago in a touring production this week. Tonight’s show at the Cadillac Palace Theatre is at 7:30pm, and tickets start at $30.
