The Shedd Aquarium officially reopened its doors to the public last week, but that hasn't stopped some of its most beloved aquatic residents from continuing to explore the great wide world around them. This time, Magellanic penguins Izzy and Darwin took a trip outside the aquarium and headed to the nearby Field Museum for a good old-fashioned dose of natural history.

The aquarium's penguin field trips—a popular (and adorable) development during the city's full shutdown—have previously taken a cadre of penguin stars on visits throughout the Shedd, waddling around to see freshwater fish, Beluga whales and other animal friends. Their foray into the Field's storied halls allowed them to pal around with some slightly more distant relatives, like Máximo the titanosaur and Sue the T. rex.

You can watch the penguins' museum exploration in the video, captured by aquarium staff, below. And if you want to see the penguins in person, head to the Shedd's website to make a timed reservation for a visit and view the aquarium's new guidelines on social distancing rules.
