Fans have been pouring into Wrigley Field for Cubs games for months already, but now even the sports-avoidant have a reason to make the trek into Wrigleyville. After limiting events for more than a year, Gallagher Way—the plaza located right next to Wrigley Field—is back with a full roster of free summer programming, from Music Box Theatre-run movie screenings to art markets and concerts.

The Music Box Theatre at Gallagher Way screening series, which centers on blockbuster and nostalgia-driven titles, kicks off on July 14 with a screening of Wonder Woman and runs through September 29, showing flicks like Men in Black, Bring It On and Hocus Pocus. You're free to bring your own food to accompany the show, but nearby restaurants (like Big Star and Jeni's Ice Cream) will be on hand for carry-out purchases. Worried about securing a place to sit? Gallagher Way is also offering reserved seating tickets—which include an ice cream from Jeni's and a snack—that you can claim online in advance, though that will cost you $25.

In addition to the movie screenings, guests can check out free outdoor fitness classes starting July 5, plus a weekly edition of the French Market (an extension of the food hall attached to Ogilvie Transportation Center) on Thursday from July 15 through September. Families will also appreciate kid-oriented programming, like Wiggleworms morning music classes from the Old Town School of Folk Music, running every Tuesday from July 6 through September 28.

Keep an eye out for limited-run events, too—the Wrigleyville Art Market, for instance, will run on July 31 and August 14, showcasing more than 50 artists with work reflecting the themes “Made in Chicago” and “My Kind of Town.” The Rock and Roll Playhouse band will perform two family-friendly concerts, focusing on different moments throughout rock history, on August 1 and August 29.

Ready to plan your trip to the neighborhood? Also, heads up: Masks are required for unvaccinated guests, but you're welcome to go mask-free if you've gotten your shots.
