Even while Chicago's clubs are closed, the beat goes on in the city that brought house music to the world. Smart Bar's weekly Queen! party makes the jump to cyberspace every second and fourth Sunday, with residents Michael Serafini and Garrett David spinning deep grooves while hosts Lucy Stoole, Nico and Jojo Baby strut their stuff from home. Sure, it won't be the same as desending the stairs to a crowded dance floor and rubbing shoulders (and everything else) with a group of fellow revelers, but in the age of social distancing, Digital Queen! is a chance for dance music fans across the world to attend one of Chicago's most revered parties. Admission to the Twitch stream is free, but drop a few bucks into the Queen! reflief fund so that the records can keep spinning once this is all over.
