The owners may hail from a corporate restaurant background, but 35th Street Café strives to be a neighborhood jewel. Benches and tables fill the wooden-floored main and overflow rooms while large windows invite people-watching for patrons and vice versa. All edibles are made in-house and offer a little something for everyone: an extensive breakfast menu (including a low-carb omelette and crêpes) for families and early birds, various espresso drinks for those jonesing for a caffeine fix and fresh soups and sandwiches/wraps for lunchers.
