Urban fans of Elmwood Park’s legendary pizza spot were eagerly awaiting the opening of this smaller, takeout-only outpost in North Center. One bite of the flavorful housemade sausage—served with peppers as an appetizer or on top of crispy thin-crust pizza—and you’ll see why. The frizelle salad (marinated eggplant with Fontinella, celery, red onion and tomato over crispy bread) is tart and delicious and big enough to feed a family. But skip the special “Pizza Novas,” thin-crust pies with olive oil bases that are bland—it’s the red-sauce options that satisfy pizza cravings.
