After peddling her gelato all over town to the city's best chefs and markets, Jessica Oloroso found a fitting home for her first storefront—the Ukrainian Village space that previously housed gelato shop Piccolo. There, she lures folks with boundary-pushing scoops of gelato such as avocado-cinnamon and sesame-fig-chocolate chip. The mish-mash of tattooed bike-peddlers and stroller-pushing locals tends to sample plenty before settling, giving you more time to decide between a simple cup or a cone with a refreshing iced Turkish coffee on the side.

Amazingly unique flavors and friendly staff make this place one we keep coming back to throughout the summer!
Love Black Dog Gelato! They have a fantastic selection of unique flavors like Seasame Fig Chocolate Chip. Make sure to try their Mexican Hot Chocolate and Butterscotch Bourbon Pecan flavors! It's one of the best spots for ice gelato.
Black Dog has plenty of flavors that you'll have trouble finding elsewhere, like white chocolate banana and cayenne Mexican chocolate, but one of my favorite treats is the affogado, which mixes coffee and vanilla bean gelato.
