The urban Italian food served here ranks a notch above standard spaghetti-house fare. Panzanella Toscana, though presented more like a bruschetta than the true bread salad, is juicy and balanced. Pastas, including an admirably clammy version of linguine alla vongole, are served properly al dente and generously sauced. You’ll never see pesto mashed potatoes in Italy, but they sure taste fine sitting next to a chicken breast adorned with smoky mozzarella, bacon and tomatoes.

Fourteen years ago it was a destination and now, with Logan Square on fire, it is surrounded by many more restaurants, Buona Terra has stuck around. You can always count on a great meal and lots of fun, add in a nice bottle of wine from a great list and how can you go wrong.
