You might have stopped by this Lincoln Square bakery for a croissant to go and missed the dining room hidden in back. The first-come, first-served policy means you’ll have a half-hour wait for brunch, but a cup of coffee and slice of coffee cake will tide you over. For the main event, don’t miss the corned-beef hash: the smoky-salty beef and potatoes are flecked with herbs and topped with two perfectly poached eggs. Lunch and dinner during the week focus on comfort foods, including a yummy, grown-up mac and cheese with leeks.

I have lived in the neighborhood my entire life and remember when the cafe was just a small restaurant. They have always had great food and pastries. It was always a treat to go to the restaurant on the way home from school as a kid and get my favorite menu item, the tuna fish sandwich, and to bring some sweets home as well. It has and always will be a staple of Lincoln Square.
I love everything about this place. Food, cake, cookies, coffee. And fantastic service. They make an excellent fruit tart - my favorite!
Delicious croissants, a lovely patio, a great lunch menu, yummy chili. My toddler loves the sugar cookies! The desserts are truly top notch.
I'm here at least once a week. My favorite brunch in the city. Dependable and delicious. My favorite neighborhood spot.
