Tucked between the Swedish stalwarts and shiny new bistros and sushi houses in Andersonville is this red-sauce Italian spot, which has been serving up can’t-go-wrong classics to the locals since 1963. The menu’s solidly old-school dishes include crisp chicken parmigiana and shells stuffed to the hilt with fresh ricotta. Feeling fancy? Try the fluffy gnocchi filled with Gorgonzola and served under a blanket of tomato cream sauce.

Once someone finally acknowledged our presence at the vacant host-stand (third time I've been here with no one greeting my party; first two times we did not stay), the experience was quite nice. The portions were enormous and the food was completely pleasing. I got the minetrone soup and my friend got some sort of cheese-pasta dish. The bread they brought at the start of the meal was really good! Hope to go back.
