This century-old brownstone is a quintessential Chicago steakhouse in every sense of the word. Businessmen with fat expense wallets head upstairs for white-tablecloth service, pricey wines and 48- or 64-ounce porterhouses fit for a king. We prefer the subterranean piano bar, where every inch of wall is covered with vintage photos of Capone and crew and the high wooden tables are packed with storytellers and uncompromising carnivores.

Ready for a little gangster with a side of steak? Welcome to Chicago Chop House, an establishment that embraces service and tradition like none other. The staff is super knowledgeable, so don't feel pressure to order a certain kind of steak a certain way if you're not sure – ask! You'll be much happier with your final choice, I promise. The steak is very high quality and cooked perfectly. The sides are excellent as well. And the ambience is not short on things to keep you talking during dinner. Photos are everywhere, and it's fun to explore.
The food is absolutely exquisite. The waiting service is very attentive and friendly. We were well taken care of and the ambiance and decor of the restaurant made the experience even better.
