Coalfire Opens In Southport

Pizza-lovers (and aren’t we all?) have been eagerly awaiting the second, larger outpost of the thin-crust pizza spot. The Southport menu features many of the same pies as the West Town original, like an Instagram-worthy pepperoni pizza with huge dollops of whipped ricotta. New pies include feisty ‘nduja balanced with sweet shrimp, but all the pizzas come on the same blistered crust, which means they’re all worth ordering.

I had a great experience on the Coalfire patio recently. The drink options were great and our meat pizza was the perfect size for our group of three to eat and still have room for dessert. With Mista Pizza closing recently, this is the closest replacement I've found for thin cracker crust pizza - highly recommend!

Thin crust pizza the way it's intended to be made! Eat your heart out, cracker crust.

You'll likely encounter some lines at this popular pizza joint, but the crispy pies are worth the wait. You'll be hard-pressed to find more band for your pizza buck in the area—Coalfire piles on the toppings, including thick cut pepperonis and ample dollops of ricotta cheese. The generous portions extend to appetizers like the house Cesar salad, which is big enough for three people to share (though you'll want to eat the whole thing yourself).
