A successful neighborhood restaurant should know its surroundings, and the folks at 4-Star Restaurant Group (Dunlay's, Frasca Pizzeria) clearly know theirs: This Southport Corridor spot bends over backward for area families. There's a stroller valet and stools in the bathroom for wee ones, and kids eat free every day from 4–6pm. For adults, there's a bar slinging craft beers, a rotisserie putting out crispy-skinned chicken and a menu of burgers, salads, warm corn bread and crab cakes (more crab than cake). At meal's end, kids and adults come together over a DIY ice-cream sundae with hot fudge, crushed Butterfingers, whipped cream and other fun toppings on the side. At brunch, the straightforward menu is perfectly executed, with buttery biscuits served with tart strawberry rhubarb jam, thick oatmeal pancakes with maple butter, and fat links of sausage.

I'm a carnivore, but the veggie burger here is awesome and full of flavor. Whether you are here for dinner or brunch, be sure to get an order of the homemade skillet cornbread for your table.

Such an un expected great spot for good comfort food  with a location on Southport. Make sure to get the cornbread, because its life, and when it comes with maple butter that is to-die-for. The wine menu is also really robust for a local spot and the waitstaff were very friendly and knowledge about the menu and specials !
